Who we are
Our website address is: https://nofkry.com. We are a culturally cutting-edge, genre-agnostic curation platform engineered by industry veterans Hakim Draper and David Lotwin. NO FKRY conceptually translates to zero nonsense and pure transparency. This policy reflects that.
Comments
When you leave a comment on the site, we collect the data shown in the form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string. Why? Because the internet is full of bots, and we actively combat algorithmic slop and spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you use it (their privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/). Once your comment clears our standards, your profile picture is visible to the public.
Media
If you upload images to the website, do yourself a favor and strip the embedded location data (EXIF GPS) first. If you don’t, anybody visiting the site can download the image and extract exactly where you were standing when you took it. That’s a you problem.
Cookies
We use cookies for efficiency, not espionage.
- If you leave a comment, you can opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies so you don’t have to re-type it next time. These last a year.
- If you hit our login page, we set a temporary cookie just to see if your browser even accepts them. It holds zero personal data and dies when you close the browser.
- When you log in, we drop cookies to save your login info (lasts two days) and your screen display choices (lasts a year). Hit “Remember Me” and you get two weeks. Log out, and the login cookies are nuked.
- If you edit or publish an article, an extra cookie is saved in your browser. No personal data, just the post ID of what you just touched. It expires in 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles here might include embedded content (videos, images, whatever). Clicking or interacting with that embedded content behaves exactly as if you walked onto that other website. Those third-party sites might collect your data, use their own cookies, embed extra tracking, and monitor your interactions with their player—especially if you’re logged into their platform. Take your tracking complaints up with them.
Who we share your data with
We are here to filter out industry noise, not sell your data to it. However, if you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata stay in our system indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve your future comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue like a traditional PR firm. For users that register on NO FKRY, we store the personal info provided in your user profile. You can see, edit, or delete your personal info at any time (except you can’t change your username). Our admins can also see and edit that info, because it’s our house.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account here or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also demand we erase it. We will comply, except for any data we are legally, administratively, or securely obligated to keep.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments are aggressively filtered through an automated spam detection service. We have zero tolerance for nonsense.
